Flourish is empowering the world to visualize and tell stories with data. It enables anyone to create beautiful graphics, presentations and interactive stories without coding. Since our launch in 2018, more than 500,000 registered users have produced more than 5 million graphics, which have racked up more than ten billion views.

Our customers include leading newsrooms (such as BBC and FT), major corporates (such as Goldman Sachs, EY and Moody’s), NGOs (Amnesty, Rockefeller), plus universities all over the world.

We are seeking a bright, positive intern to work in our professional services team to help support customers on specific projects. You’ll make an important contribution to the company, creating successful, beautiful and engaging Flourish graphics on behalf of customers.

The role

You will work on the Flourish services team, which provides hands-on help to key customers. We turn static content and data into beautiful, engaging stories in Flourish on behalf of customers, covering everything from the impact of COVID on Africa to global education to big topics such as why 2m people are locked out of the economy. We also create reusable custom templates to meet their needs. You will:

  • Support the services team. Help team members scope out and deliver projects, over time picking up expert skills in Flourish and visual storytelling.

  • Help maintain customer relationships. This means joining or running customer calls, listening to their needs and documenting what they want from their project.

  • Create pre-sales examples. Use your creativity to help the sales team close deals by making impressive examples for potential customers.

  • Help us make the product even better. Share your ideas and insights to help make Flourish better and easier to use. Help with basic testing, such as checking features on different devices or with different datasets, and filing bugs on Github.

About you

  • You’re a quick learner, technically minded and excited by data visualization. You think logically, like solving problems and are creative, with a good eye for design and detail. You may have a relevant degree, though experience with data visualization and Flourish count too.

  • You’re positive, friendly, helpful and happy in a customer-facing role. You’re an excellent communicator in written and spoken English, whether emailing or speaking to non-technical customers on their requirements or chatting to developers and designers on the team. We have customers all over the world, so any additional languages would be a bonus.

  • You’re well organized, proactive and know how to prioritize without being micromanaged. You’ll be happy spinning multiple plates, working across several projects and customers at a time. And you’ll thrive in a fast-paced startup environment, always finding useful ways to proactively contribute in an exciting small company.

  • Our location: We’re currently working entirely remotely, and you would too. But we intend to get a London office again once the Covid situation has settled down, so you might be expected to come in person after that.
