What is scrollytelling and how does it work?
Scrollytelling is a powerful storytelling tool that enhances your audience’s browsing and learning experience through visually rich, interactive data stories. And now, with Flourish’s no-code solution, it’s more user-friendly and accessible than ever before.
As scrolling becomes more ingrained and attention spans shorten, it’s essential to create captivating content for your audience. This is why we’re excited to introduce a tool that is built with accessibility in mind and is easy to put together, regardless of technical skills.
How to get started
To get started with scrollytelling, simply head over to the story editor in the Flourish app. Add your visualizations and captions, just like you would normally do for a Flourish story – including text and hyperlinks in the slides’ captions.
Users on the Enterprise and Publisher plans can access the new scrollytelling experience via the story editor
When you’re done, select Scrolly in the top left-hand side and your scrollytelling piece is good to go. After that, you can publish and embed as you would with any other Flourish visualization. Your scrollytelling captions will seamlessly blend in with the rest of your webpage’s styles once embedded.
Who can use scrollytelling?
Scrollytelling is now available for users on our Enterprise and Publisher plans. This feature will automatically be available in your account – simply click on the story editor and start creating.
