The power of AI with Flourish expertise

Every chart the Connector creates is a real Flourish visualization – interactive, editable, and living in your account. No screenshots, no rebuilding from scratch.

Start where you work

Give Claude, ChatGPT or another MCP-compatible tool a dataset and describe what you want to show. The Connector prepares the data, selects a Flourish template and starts building.

Frequently asked questions

The Flourish Connector (built on the Model Context Protocol, or MCP) lets compatible AI tools work with Flourish on your behalf.

You can give your AI tool a dataset and ask it to create a Flourish visualization. It can help choose a suitable template, structure the data for that template, configure the chart, and return a real Flourish visualization that you can open, edit, share, and embed.

The Flourish Assistant lives inside the Flourish editor and helps you edit an existing visualization using plain-language prompts. The Flourish Connector works from your chosen AI tool. It lets that tool create or edit Flourish visualizations as part of a wider AI workflow — for example, turning a dataset into a Flourish chart and returning an edit link.

To learn how to enable the Flourish Connector in your AI tool of choice, check out our help doc.

The Connector is designed to work with AI tools that support MCP or external connectors. Where supported, you’ll be able to find Flourish in your AI tool’s connectors or MCP section. In some tools, you may also be able to connect manually using a Flourish MCP configuration URL.

The Connector can create real Flourish visualizations from your data and help configure them using Flourish templates and settings. You can specify a template yourself, or ask your AI tool to recommend one based on your data. You can also make follow-up edits in the same conversation, such as changing colors, adding a title, or adjusting the chart configuration.

Publishing still happens in the Flourish editor, so you can review the visualization before it goes live.

Your chosen AI tool processes the data you provide so it can create and configure a Flourish visualization. Depending on your request, it may also restructure your data to fit the requirements of a Flourish template.

As with any AI-assisted workflow, you should check the output carefully, especially when data accuracy matters. For confidential or sensitive data, make sure your use of the Connector fits your organization’s policies and the data policies of the AI tool you’re using.

The Connector is available to all Flourish users, and it does not use your Flourish Assistant credits. The AI processing happens in your chosen AI tool, so any AI usage is handled through that tool rather than through Flourish credits.

Visualizations you create with the Connector follow the same permissions, sharing settings, and security model as those you build directly in the Flourish editor.
